Staff Accountant

Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for general accounting activities including general ledger, cash management, fixed asset management, various account reconciliations and analysis, and required closings. This position will take an active role in SOX compliance and controls activity as needed.

Responsibilities

General ledger responsibilities including balance sheet reconciliations and expense account analysis, ensuring GAAP compliance
Prepare schedules and other documents for independent auditors
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and balance sheet analysis
Update and strengthen internal controls and procedures including internal compliance and administration
Take an active role in the interim and year-end Financial and SOX audits, prepare accurate and timely schedules
Investigate and recommend revisions to accounting procedures and systems to satisfy process improvement initiatives.
Prepare and file various annual government surveys and filings
Assist on special projects as needed
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree with 3 – 7 years related experience. Public company experience desired.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent computer skills; experience with MS Excel and automated financial systems essential, Great Plains preferred.
Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
